My Why

My own journey through therapy—healing from toxic relationships, managing anxiety, setting boundaries, and embracing my racial identity—has deeply shaped my approach as a therapist. I believe that self-understanding and owning our stories allow us to reach our fullest potential. Therapy continues to play an important role in my life, and I know firsthand the courage it takes to start this process. I feel immense gratitude to the clients who trust me with their stories, and I’m honored to be a part of their healing journey.

Professional Experience

As a Latina therapist, I’m proud to offer services in both Spanish and English. I hold a B.A. in Sports Medicine with a minor in Spanish and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. My graduate work focused on mental health through a non-pathologizing and culturally sensitive lens. I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients from diverse racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds, ranging from youth to older adults.
I began my career as a science teacher and later stepping into leadership roles in both school settings and private organizations. While I enjoyed my work in organizational leadership, I found my true calling in helping colleagues connect to their strengths and grow on a deeper level.
In my therapy career, I’ve gained valuable experience in both community-based programs and private practice settings. I’ve provided talk therapy, life coaching, and facilitated groups for at-risk youth within the Orange County Juvenile Justice System. Additionally, I’ve led court-mandated parenting classes for the County of Orange, and I currently facilitate parent support workshops for charter schools in the Los Angeles area. I am also a Certified Grief Educator, trained by renowned grief expert David Kessler. This certification equips me with the tools and insights needed to help clients navigate the often unspoken complexities of grief.
I especially enjoy working with relationship units, particularly BIPOC or interracial couples. As an attachment-based therapist trained in Emotion Focused Therapy, I help couples increase emotional awareness and build stronger connections. I also utilize Gottman interventions and facilitate Prepare/Enrich pre-commitment therapy.
I love working with young adults, particularly college-age clients, as they navigate key life transitions. Together, we explore themes like racial identity, career development, boundary setting, individuation from family, and self-understanding in both platonic and romantic relationships. Supporting my clients as they grow and thrive is one of the greatest joys of my work.

Outside the Office

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time in nature, whether I’m camping, hiking, or taking a spin class. I love relaxing with cafecito and pan dulce (coffee and Mexican sweet bread) and cherishing time with family. I’m passionate about learning from different cultures and have had the privilege of traveling and living abroad. Some of my favorite places include Peru, Thailand, and Curaçao.
And as for my favorite animal? It’s the elephant—known for its empathy, emotional intelligence, and strong sense of community, qualities I deeply admire.
